It is hand made by the women of Maithili community. The artistic and majestic Mithila cotton painting uses a white cloth and then the cloth is given a background of desired color. Each painting tells a different story, either of people cooking in the kitchen, animals grazing, a wedding ceremony or anything that demonstrates the life style of people in Terai region of Nepal.
You can hand wash it with cold water with mild detergent.
